Real Talk | Small Victories Deserve a Damn Parade

Because getting through a Wednesday without flipping a table is honestly medal-worthy. Am I right?

Let’s talk about small victories.

Not the highlight reel, not the “just closed a $250k deal from my laptop in Tulum” nonsense.

I mean the gritty, personal, beautifully average wins that no one claps for—but should.

Like answering that one email that’s been haunting you for three weeks.

Or folding the laundry instead of letting it become your new anxiety chair.

Or saying “no” to plans without a three-paragraph apology and a fake excuse about your cousin’s dog’s birthday.

That stuff? That’s gold.

And I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

Here’s the thing: the world worships big moves.

Go big or go home.

All or nothing.

Level up, glow up, boss up, show up.

It’s exhausting.

What if I just want to stay up through the day without throwing my phone in the bathtub?

Because some days, the biggest flex is brushing your hair.

Or choosing a salad and fries. Balance. Growth. Range.

Small victories are proof you’re still in the ring.

Still swinging. Still trying. Still here.

And honestly? That’s hotter than any curated milestone post with 87 hashtags.

Let me give you a real example:

Last week, I went to IKEA for “just one thing.” (Ha. Fool’s errand.)

Somehow, I made it out with only the thing I went in for.

ONE THING.

No $24 set of mystery spice jars, no sad houseplant I’d immediately forget to water, no meatballs.

I walked in and out like a Scandinavian minimalist queen.

That was my Super Bowl.

I almost called a friend just to brag.

So yeah—

You made a phone call you were dreading? ICON.

You didn’t check your ex’s Instagram today? CELEBRITY.

You drank water before coffee this morning? WHO IS SHE??

Small wins might not look good on LinkedIn, but they’re keeping your nervous system from becoming a dumpster fire—and that’s kinda important.

And let’s not forget:

That person who looks like they’ve got it all together?

They probably cried in the Costco parking lot last week. We’re all just doing our best with a little mascara and a lot of snacks.

So go ahead—throw a party for your tiny triumphs.

Buy the cookie.

Do the happy dance.

Light the candle you’ve been “saving for a special occasion.” This is the occasion.

You are doing amazing.

Maybe not peak amazing. But real, raw, “I kept going anyway” amazing.

And that, my friend, is the kind of win that actually matters.
