Meet Shauna

Growing up in her community of Meander River, on Dene Tha’ First Nation, she was surrounded by wide open land that taught her to pay attention—to people, to places, to what really matters. Alongside her Cree roots, that foundation continues to shape how she sees the world and the way she creates.

She began in architecture, drawn to the idea of building something meaningful. Over time, that instinct didn’t leave—it just evolved. She found her way into communications, where she now works as a digital storyteller and strategist, focused on work that feels honest, thoughtful, and grounded.

She’s also a mom to a spirited 12-year-old son, which brings its own kind of clarity and purpose to everything she does.

Writing has always been a steady part of her life. It’s where she goes to reflect, to sort things out, and to say what’s on her mind without overthinking it. Train of Thought grew from that space—a place to explore ideas, stay curious, and share things as they come.
